Connie Clendenan – Chief Executive Officer
Connie has been with Valley Teen Ranch since 1988. She received her Master’s in Social Work from CSU, Fresno, and believes that Jesus’s humor and nepotism landed her a position at Valley Teen Ranch. As CEO, Connie heads up fund raising, problem solving, leadership, and many other projects that contribute to the success of VTR. She is committed to the mission and vision of Valley Teen Ranch and displays that commitment daily. Connie has no husband, no children, and no debts! She enjoys spending time with her friends, playing the trumpet, and vacationing to the beach.
Andrea Evans – Assistant Director of Operations
Andrea has been with Valley Teen Ranch since January of 2003. She graduated in 2002 with her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from California State University, Fresno. Andrea started at VTR as a child care worker, but her hard work and commitment to “building young lives” has led her to the Ranch Program Coordinator position. She has a great team of staff to work with at the Ranch, and together, they are able to positively impact the lives of many young men every day. Andrea and her husband spend much of their free time with their two beautiful girls.
Leslie Hoyt has been a licensed clinical psychologist since 1993, after completing undergraduate work and a teaching credential at California State University, Fresno, graduate work at California State University, San Francisco, and the doctoral program at Rosebridge Graduate School of Integrative Psychology in Walnut Creek, CA. After several years specializing in individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities, Dr. Hoyt established a private practice and also worked as a consultant with numerous skilled nursing facilities and the juvenile and adult courts in Fresno and Madera counties. During this time she also became a specialist in juvenile sex offenders and worked in that capacity for 11 years. Dr. Hoyt has been the Clinical Coordinator of Valley Teen Ranch since 2003 and enjoys “the challenge, the energy, and the potential to truly make a difference for so many young men and their families.” Dr. Hoyt enjoys playing tennis and spending time with her family.
Kathy Hilton – Finance Coordinator
Kathy is Valley Teen Ranch’s Financial Coordinator or the “Money Lady” as the boys at the Ranch have named her. Kathy graduated from California State University, Fresno, and has been an employee of Valley Teen Ranch since May of 1995. She has always believed in the company’s vision and mission and was connected to VTR through other staff members. Kathy and her husband, Jeff, got married in 1984 and spend much of their time traveling, fishing, quilting, and with family.
Janet Grimson – Human Resource Coordinator
Janet has been the Human Resource Coordinator for VTR since November of 2008. She has a background in Hospitality and worked in the restaurant business for over 30 years prior to her employment at VTR. As the HR Coordinator, Janet works closely with all aspects of personnel. She chose this position because it encompasses all of her prior experience. Janet has been married for 20 years and enjoys spending time with her three children and four grandchildren.
John Addington – Program Administrator
John has been with Valley Teen Ranch since July of 1995. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University, Fresno, in 1996 and began his employment at VTR as a house parent. Although house parents are no longer a part of the VTR group home model, John continues to serve the company’s mission and vision through supervising a house of young men and a handful of staff. This position always keeps John on his toes and not one day is the same as the next. He and his wife Laura have two active boys whom they love spending time with.
David Carrera – Ranch Administrator
David started as Child Care Worker in June of 2000. His leadership skills and character qualities soon led him to the Lead Supervisor position of two of the three houses at the Ranch. Although most of his days are spent problem solving, managing staff, and providing a safe environment for the youth and staff, David enjoys building positive relationships with the youth and has seen many young men leave the Ranch with improved behavior as well as new dreams and goals. David is happily married and he enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys, Matthew and Gabe.
Alicia Longcor – Foster Family and Adoption Administrator
Alicia joined the VTR team in 2008. She currently works as the Social Work Administrator for the Foster Family and Adoption Agency. Alicia graduated from Fresno State with her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies, and then her Master’s degree in Counseling option in Marriage and Family Therapy. She came to VTR because she believes her calling is to serve at risk youth. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, attending concerts and spending time with family.
Jennifer Moore received her Bachelors Degree in Psychology in 2006 and her Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2010, both from Fresno State. Most recently, Jennifer worked with the Marjaree Mason Center as the Coordinator of Community Relations handling their fundraising and donations. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her new baby boy, her husband, traveling, reading, sewing and doing CrossFit. She’s is excited to start her journey in the field of social work. “I am excited that God has called me to work with families and children in such an impactful field. I feel blessed to serve and grow with Valley Teen Ranch.”
Maria Chia – Social Worker, Foster Family and Adoption Agency
Maria started working as a Child Care Worker in March of 2013. She started working as a Floater at all three houses on the ranch which gave her the opportunity to familiarize herself with the different houses, staff and young men. During her time as a Child Care Worker, Maria had the opportunity to also learn and help in other areas at the ranch. She has served as an Independent Living Skills instructor, a Life Skills instructor, Interim Supervisor, Assisted the Food Coordinator and assisted the Ranch Medical Coordinator. Maria enjoyed spending time with the young men and getting to know them individually. She has seen them grow and make positive changes in their lives throughout their stay at the ranch and credits the staff for helping these young men make positive choices. Maria transitioned into the position of FFA Social Worker in May of 2016 and has really found a passion helping children of all ages secure a safe and loving home. She enjoys spending her time with her family and going to baseball games.
